The life cycle analysis of greenhouse gas emissions of certified biodiesel produced by American GreenFuels is determined by production, transportation, and consumption and calculated based on delivery within 100 miles from the manufacturing site. When sold within Connecticut, biodiesel produced by American GreenFuels contains greenhouse gas emission savings of up to 93% as compared with ultra low sulfur heating oil. Based on its manufacturing process and logistics, certified biodiesel by American GreenFuels boasts a logistical advantage with regards to lower transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions. The aforementioned results in a product with greater environmental benefits for Connecticut consumers as compared with other biodiesel transported into Connecticut — and a better environment is good for all of us in Connecticut.

American GreenFuels biodiesel is certified to:

  • have a distinct environmental benefit to Connecticut consumers because it provides greenhouse gas savings of up to 93% as compared with ultra-low sulfur heating oil;
  • meet ASTM D6751 specification standards, and
  • be produced at a facility that is certified by the NBAC as a BQ-9000® Producer

UL’s Environmental Claim Validations provide verification, by an independent, third-party source, that certified and environmentally validated biodiesel produced by American GreenFuels lives up to its marketing claims and complies with various green codes, standards and procurement policies.

The Recycled Content claim validates the post-consumer, pre-consumer, or total recycled content used to produce the biodiesel made by American GreenFuels.

By-Product Synergy:

The By-Product Synergy claim validates supply chain localization, material optimization, waste minimization and virgin material substitution achievements through active dialogue and working across facilities from diverse industries. In this instance, the claim validates that American GreenFuels uses waste from one industry to produce its biodiesel as indicated in the achieved mark from UL.

Zero Waste to Landfill:

The Zero Waste to Landfill claim validates American GreenFuels’ waste diversion claims to a variety of levels through auditing.
